Our Sweet Baby Girls

Last Sunday, September 17th, was really special to our family for 2 reasons. We had Isabella baptised & it was also the 2nd anniversary of our little angel, Mary Alice. So, I guess you could say the day was a little bittersweet. My wonderful older sister, Cassie, & her husband, Mark, are Isabella's Godparents. We are so happy that they accepted our offer because we know they will be wonderful influences in Isabella's life. We had the baptism at St. Helen's and then had a BBQ at Mom & Dad's afterwards. It was so much fun getting to see everyone & know that they were all there for our precious daughter. Afterwards, Anthony, Isabella & I drove out to the cemetery to visit our sweet little angel. It is really important to us to make sure we let Isabella know about her sister. We will teach her that she has a special little angel up in heaven that is always looking out for her.

Spending time with friends...

Visit from the Poths
Kristi & Lex stopped in Austin on their way to San Antonio from Dallas as a pit stop on their Texas tour. We were so lucky that we got to go out to dinner with them & meet up with Angela & James. Lex did a great job with Isabella, his first time holding a baby...how sweet. Kristi was a true natural holding sleepy Bella while I tried to finish my dinner. Watch out Poths...they say babies are contagious! :)

Visiting the Brewers

We got to see the Brewer's for a short visit when I had a last minute interview in Houston. (Don't worry...we have no plans of moving any time soon!) Isabella & Briley didn't even have time to play together because we got there so late Thursday night Briley was already asleep. Then, Briley left before Isabella woke up on Friday. Yet, Missy & I were still able to squeeze in some picture time!

The boys are back in town!...& Tina!

After 2 very long months in Morocco, Tina & the boys...Jaouad, Amar & Jamal, are back home in Texas. It seemed like such a long time that they were gone & we're so happy to have them all here. The boys both had their heads shaved while they were over there by Jaouad's father. We all miss Amar's beautiful curls, but they both look like such little cuties with their peach-fuzz. I can't believe how big both of them got in just 2 months!

On the Go!

So, Tuesday was a really big day for Isabella. She decided she was going to learn how to sit up by herself & take her first few crawling steps. She's been working on both of these goals for a while now. For the past several weeks she has been a rocker...on her hands & knees that is. We knew it was only a matter of time before she would be crawling. So, we've just been sitting back, watching and waiting. She hasn't completely mastered the crawling, but she's getting pretty close. After her first couple of "steps" with her hands & knees, if she still hasn't reached whatever object she is going for, she takes a big lunge forward. She's become quite the leaper. It's so much fun to see her discovering her new abilities. The best reward is when she looks up at us & gives us a big smile as if she's saying, "Daddy, Mommy...look what I just did!"

Lovely Locks

I am posting this for the simple fact that Amy thought Isabella's hair was hilarious the other morning when she woke up & she insisted that I take a picture. So, here it is for all of you that heard about it. As you can see, Isabella doesn't really know what all the fuss was about. :)

After bath time the other night I decided to put Isabella's hair up in her first pony tail. It is getting sooo long!

Visiting the Altons

Kristal, Abby & Mike
This past weekend we went to visit our friends, Mike & Kristal in Keller. Our good friend, Erin, only lives about 5 minutes away from them & the Brewers made the trip as well. All five of them were Resident Advisors with me at A&M. So, it was a great weekend for us to catch up with some of our old RA buddies. We had such a wonderful time getting to hang out with everyone!

Summer Fun!

Last week we took Isabella swimming for the first time with Isaiah & Tori. It was so much fun seeing the little ones have such a good time. Both Isabella & Isaiah went completely under water & really enjoyed it. Looks like we're going to have a few little fishees to swim after. :)

Happy 4th!

We had a bit of a rainy 4th of July this year, but it still ended up being quite a bit of fun. We spent the morning at the park with Anthony's family until we were forced to leave early because of the rain. This is typically where we spend our entire day every 4th & watch the awesome firework display at night. We ended up going over to Anthony's cousin's house and planned on watching the fireworks from there. Sadly, they ended up being cancelled because of all the rain. But, lucky for us we still got to see some fireworks. After the Round Rock Express game they did their usual firework show which we were able to see from their back porch. Isabella was truly amazed at all the bright lights. It was pretty cute seeing her reaction. So, even though it wasn't our traditional 4th of July this year I'd have to say we had a pretty good time. We hope everyone else did too!:)
