I'm going to be an Auntie....again!

the proud parents-to-be

So the big news of the day for Father's Day was that Amy & Jamie are expecting a new little one sometime around Valentine's Day '07. I can't even explain how excited I am for them. They are going to be such wonderful parents to this new little bundle of joy. I'm going to predict that they're having a little girl. But, as most of you know, I'm pretty much always wrong when it comes to these things...so, we'll just have to see. Here's the poem that Amy, so cleverly, wrote for Dad in his Father's Day card...too cute!

We have a special gift to share,
but it's not quite yet here;
it's still growing and working very hard,
which is why we're giving you this card.
With ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes,
two baby eyes and a perfect button nose,
two little ears to hear what you say and
two tiny lips to give kisses every day
your new grandbaby will be here to play
in February on Valentine's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Hangin' out in Houston

A couple of weekends ago we took a trip to Houston to go visit our great friends, the Brewers, for their house warming party. It ended up being quite the reunion. We got to meet up with several of our old friends from A&M and we all had a great time. We all agreed that we won't wait so long for our next visit. It was just too much fun!

Rosie Graduates!

Last Friday night the youngest of the 8 kids in our family graduated from Georgetown High School. YEAH ROSE!!! Now, in just a few short months, she'll be off to Hawaii for college. So, what better way to send her off than having a Hawaiian themed graduation party out at Todd's house on the lake. We are all so proud of you Rosie. LOVE YOU!!!

Fun in San Antone!

Anthony, Isabella, Alice, James, Angela, Karen, Jake, Jeff, Christine & Emily

Last Saturday we took a trip down to San Antonio to go meet up with a group of our friends after their long day at Fiesta Texas. It was quite a drive just for dinner, but well worth it to see all of our friends. We even ran in to my friend, Jill, on the Riverwalk. I'm so glad that everyone finally got to meet Isabella. Although, we have never seen her so happy to be back home. Next time we'll just have to get everyone come to visit us.

Mother's Day

I think I can speak for all the moms in our family when I say it was a great Mother's Day. After church, we all went over to Mark & Cassie's for brunch & some much-needed, good quality family time. Adam & Lyndsey introduced us to our new favorite game...Full House trivia. We spent the day playing & laughing with the kids. It's so fun to see thier personalities change as they get a little older. (Yes, they're all under 2-1/2...but you know what I mean.) Amar is turning in to quite the character; Jamal is totally in love with his big brother & quite possibly the happiest baby I have ever known; Luke loves being the big cousin and Isabella just sits back & takes everything in.
The best news of the day...Todd saved a bunch of money on his car insurance by switching to Geico! No, really Todd asked Pene's family if he could marry her. FINALLY!!! Our family has been waiting for this announcement for what seems like a very long time. Even though Pene's family slipped the big news to her before Todd actually popped the question, we all new it was coming sooner or later. YAY for them! I'm going to have a new sister!!!

I don't know which one of them was having more fun.

Morning Girl

Isabella turned 1 month old on Monday, April 17th (Aunt Rose's & Uncle Joe's birthday). We took her to the doctor to find out she now weighs 9lbs. 14-1/2 oz. & is 22 inches long. She's definitely growing quite a bit. The past month has just flown by & Isabella changes every day. We have discovered that she is her happiest in the early morning when she first wakes up. This is the time when she is really playful & smiles the most. Isabella has been smiling since the first week she was born, but now she smiles more in response to things we do or say. She has even laughed in her sleep a few times. She's getting really good at holding her head up & just discovering the world around her. She really loves to stare at whoever is holding her & take in everything she can. It is fun to think about what the next month has in store but for now we're just loving the moment we're in.

HAPPY EASTER!

Easter Sunday was our first time to take Isabella to church. She did really great, sleeping the whole time. We also took her out to the cemetery afterwards to visit her older sister. The wildflowers were beautiful out there. After church the whole family went over to Amy & Jamie's new house in Killeen for Easter fun & yummy food. We even had a little Easter egg hunt for Luke & Amar. Isabella & Jamal got a few eggs of thier own even though they didn't really do the hunting.
