the BIG flood

Since it has basically been raining nonstop for over a week, it is only expected that we are now seeing some major problems starting to occur. Parts of central Texas have received over 18 inches of rain just since last night alone!!! Craziness I'm telling you! So, I thought I'd share some pictures with all of you just in case you didn't believe the stories...they were hard for me to believe until I saw them for myself.

San Gabriel Park

South San Gabriel River in Georgetown

This picture was taken from what is normally a 30 ft cliff overlooking the river!

These last 2 pictures are at the end of Anthony's parent's street. Yes, that is the stop sign completely surrounded in water. You can even see the little saw horse just barely sticking out of the water in the first picture that says, "water over bridge"...you think!?! Just a little side note....they live on a dead end street. So, needless to say, this being their only point of entry/exit, they are completely trapped in with no way to get out. Let's all just hope & pray that it doesn't get any worse or we might need to call Noah here pretty soon!

If you want to see any more pictures, just go to either http://www.kxan.com/ or http://www.kvue.com/. That is where I got all these pictures from. No, we did NOT swim over to the Guajardo house just to take these.

Life is a bowl of....PEACHES!

So, one of the great things about our new home is that we have some amazing fruit trees in the back yard. The peaches had just ripened & were perfect for picking so, that's what we did!

a few days before picking

our basket of peaches

Isabella just can't wait!

YUMMY!!!

So, if anyone knows of any great peach recipes we should try out, send them our way. Or, if you'd just like a nice juicy peach, come on over. They are definitely the best I've ever had. There's nothing like a truly fresh peach!

As for now, I'll leave you all with a little verse from one of my favorite songs about peaches!

Movin' to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches
I'm movin' to the country, I'm gonna eat me a lot of peaches
I'm movin' to the country, I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Movin' to the country, I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches
Peaches come from a can they were put there by a man, In a factory downtown
If I had my little way, I'd eat peaches everyday!!!!!!!

the newest Rose in Texas!

& what a beautiful Rose she is!!!
Here is our newest little niece, Nadia Rose. She was born on Friday, June 8th at 12:09pm weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces & stretching out to 19.5 inches long. She's the perfect little addition to Tina & Jaouad's growing family. Now the boys have a sweet little sister to love. YAY! Congratulations Mommy & Daddy; we're soooooo happy for you!!! Love you all to pieces!!!
I must add, Tina is quite the pro now. With only 3 pushes, Nadia was born in less than 10 minutes. Way to go!!!
